A good trial is not a sales show. It is a replica of the client’s future factory in miniature. We followed five steps before the first press.
Raw Material Preparation and Binder Mixing
The client brought 40 kg of coconut shell charcoal powder, mesh size around 80, 水分 9 percent. We crushed it again to below 3 毫米, then blended it with cassava starch binder at 6 percent in the Weiwa horizontal binder mixer. Mixing time was nine minutes. Uniform color and no dry pockets are the first sign a hydraulic briquette machine will deliver clean edges.
PLC Setting and Pressure Adjustment on the Hydraulic Station
Our hydraulic station carries a 100 到 200 ton adjustable cylinder. For shisha cube format we set holding pressure at 160 噸, dwell time 1.2 seconds, and return stroke 0.8 seconds. The PLC panel allowed the Nigeria client to switch between automatic and manual mode. He pressed the manual button three times just to feel the cylinder response. First Pressing Cycle and Briquette Density Check
The hopper was filled, the rear cart pushed material into the mold, the upper head descended, and the lower ejector lifted the cube onto the belt. What the Nigeria Client Observed During the Trial?
He did not only watch briquettes. He walked around the machine and asked practical questions.
He checked the hydraulic oil temperature after 30 minutes of continuous running. It stayed at 48 degrees Celsius because of the external cooler. He opened the electrical cabinet and confirmed the cable colors matched the layout drawing we had sent earlier. He measured mold change time. Replacing a cube mold with a 33 mm round finger mold took 18 minutes with two wrenches. He asked about spare parts. We showed the extra seals, the spare PLC relay, and the spare pressure sensor we pack in every export wooden case.
Before leaving the workshop he asked for a second trial on BBQ rectangular bars using sawdust charcoal from our storage. Those bars came out at 45 x 25 x 18 毫米, smooth surface, no powder leakage. He recorded both batches on his phone and sent the video to his partner in Kano the same night.
Hydraulic Briquette in Nigeria and the Local Fuel Economy
