The National Immigration Administration announced on July 15, 2024 that the 144-hour visa-free transit policy will be implemented at Zhengzhou Air Port(CGO) in Henan Province from now on, and the stay scope will be in the administrative areas of Henan Province. The 144-hour (6-day) transit visa-free policy applies to Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
According to a bulletin from the National Immigration Service, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, Russia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Citizens of 54 countries including Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, Norway, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, etc. Holders of valid international travel documents and a connecting ticket with a confirmed date and seat within 144 hours of transit from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport to a third country (region) can stay within the administrative region of Henan Province for no more than 144 hours without a visa.
During the stay, citizens of 54 countries holding valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with fixed dates and seats within 144 hours can engage in tourism, business, visits, family visits and other short-term activities (in line with the mutual visa exemption agreement signed with China or my unilateral visa exemption policy, can follow its provisions). The implementation of this policy will provide more choices for foreigners to travel and trade in Henan, provide great support for our province’s foreign exchanges and cooperation, facilitate the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel, and better serve to promote the high-level opening and high-quality development of Henan.
After the implementation of the policy, Zhengzhou Exit and Entry Border Checkpoint will set up a special area and channel for 144-hour transit visa-free procedures at the exit and entry site, adjust the port guidance signs, place the temporary entry and exit card filling template for foreigners, etc., optimize the entry clearance process for foreigners, and improve the experience of passengers’ clearance.
In May 2024, Zhengzhou Airport Overseas Guest Payment Service Center and Payment Service Demonstration Zone was officially put into operation. The service center was set up near the exit of the arrival hall of Zhengzhou Airport T2 Terminal, with functions such as mobile payment, binding of foreign bank cards, ATM withdrawal of RMB cash, guiding currency exchange and opening of domestic bank cards. There are 3 foreign currency exchange authorized institutions in Terminal 2 of Zhengzhou Airport, and all 3 ATMs in departure hall and arrival hall support overseas bank cards to withdraw RMB cash. More than 90% of shopping and catering merchants support domestic and foreign bank cards, mobile payment and cash payment at the same time. In terms of bus and airport special line connection, one artificial window supports both domestic and foreign bank card swiping, mobile payment and cash payment; In terms of subway connection, 2 self-service ticket machines and 1 manual window support cash purchase tickets.
News from Henan Airport Group, in the first half of 2024, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO) completed a total of 373,000 international and regional passengers, an increase of 296%, opened 16 international and regional routes, open to 15 cities in 11 countries and regions.
