The lifting (hoisting) carbonization furnace—also called a vertical or hoist-loading kiln—is built around an inner retort lifted into the heating chamber by an electric hoist. Raw materials (logs, briquettes, shells) sit in removable pots that are raised and lowered to control carbonization cycles typically lasting 6–12 hours. This external-heating approach ensures even heat contact without direct flame, while flue gases pass through purification towers before re-combustion for energy recovery. Its robust design suits large, irregular biomass pieces and supports batch-wise operation with minimal labor, making it a favored choice for high-quality lump charcoal production.
